Overview

The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS-Bhubaneswar) has redefined the healthcare landscape in Odisha and outside. It is anchored on a genuine desire to promote a healthy society with advanced medical care.

The 2600-beded hospital made a modest beginning in 2004. During its journey, it has developed a unique identity for itself – delivering quality treatment in state-of-art facilities at an affordable cost.  KIMS is credited with having doctors who are well-known names in the healthcare sector, command respect and admiration in equal measure in the society.

KIMS is the vision of KIIT and KISS founder Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta to offer quality healthcare that is accessible to all. The premier medical facility has grown from strength to strength over the years because of the unwavering support of doctors and countless staff passionate about the cause.

Prof. Subrat Kumar Acharya

Prof (Dr) Subrat Acharya – Gastro Enterology & Hepatology

Prof. Subrat Kumar Acharya, Padma Shri, Pro-Chancellor and Professor in Gastroenterology joined the KIIT DU in 2016. He is Professor Emeritus of AIIMS New Delhi where he headed the department of Gastroenterology for a long time.

Prof (Dr) Yogesh Chawla – Gastro Enterology & Hepatology

Dr.Y.K. Chawla, Padma Shri, is the Chairman, Academics of KIMS and Professor Emeritus. He is a proud alumnus of Jabalpur University (MD, Internal Medicine) and AIIMS, New Delhi (DM, Gastroenterology).

Prof (Dr) Anil Chandra Anand – Gastro Enterology & Hepatology

Prof Anil Chandra Anand is the Professor and Head, Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Dr Anand, is an eminent specialist in his domain, and joined KIMS in 2018.

Prof (Dr) Chinmay Bijay Kumar Mohanty – General Medicine

Prof Dr Chinmoy Bijay Kumar Mohanty is the Pro-Vice Chancellor, and Professor of Medicine in KIMS. He is hailed as a trusted medicine specialist in Odisha and outside.

Prof (Dr) Bidhu Kalyan Mohanty – Oncology

Prof Bidhu K Mohanti is the Director, KIMS Cancer Centre. He joined KIMS in 2020 with a rich experience of 40 years as a medical teacher, researcher and cancer care clinician.

Prof (Dr) Hemant Kumar Kar – Dermatology

Prof Hemant Kumar Kar joined KIMS in 2020 as Professor and  HOD, Dermatology, Venereology, Leprosy, in 2020.

Prof (Dr) Ramnath Misra – Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology

Prof Ramnath Misra is Professor and Head, Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology and Dean, Department of Research and Development, KIMS.
